This is not art meant to decorate the walls of your house. It is art to inspire perspective, awareness and compassion. I tend to leave no stone unturned in my quest for the humane thread that binds us all.
Our mental state is fragile at best and has been under a bombardment from rapid change. We have been subjected to a pandemic, (called a HOAX), conspiracy theories, lies, a tyrant who is praised by a former US President even after continuing to commit war crimes and last but not least the paranoid white supremacists.
Explanation of ‘The Dark Place’ ; I have in my life subjected myself to the dark place. The first being in my teen years. I lived with emotional and physical abuse from my parents. It pushed me further into a corner and for me anger and retribution were my tools of survival. When I was discharged from the USN I continued to drink heavily and fight anyone who challenged me in any way. It was my release. Both self destructive and no remedy or recognition of the fire inside of me. It was definitely the dark place. Still self medicating with alcohol and ferocity. I learned to not blame my parents, who did not have the tools in their tool box for being the type of parents I needed and craved. I was an adult and I alone was the captain of my ship. Forgive, and move on. Remove the self applied shackles.
My second visit was shortly after the divorce from my first wife of 23 yrs. I lost just about everything that I was working for. I maintained a seemly calm mental posture while all the time the dragon was slowly awakening Like a tsunami. I was propelled into the dark place. I went down hard. That is when Cam, family and friends came to comfort me. Cam (my wife) held my heart in her hands and slowly walked me back from the edge with love and prompting me to get counseling help. I was able to walk back into the light and remain.
MY CODE:
1. Admit and acknowledge that there is a problem.
2. Do not isolate with only your erratic thoughts to haunt you. Your mind can be the most devious enemy you will ever have.
3. Seek and listen to those who love you, friends, councilors, psychiatrists, medications and any other avenues of help.
4. Forgive yourself and learn to love yourself. The past is the past and you can only change tomorrow.
5. Explore, find your passion and pursue it.
6. There are four archetypes that are unique to mankind. There’s the KING/QUEEN (the entity that makes the rules). There is the MAGICIAN (he manipulates the Kings message for ease of delivery. There is the LOVER who employs compassion while supporting the King or Queen’s quest. Finally you have the WARRIOR who preforms the mechanics of the plan. All of these entities must be in balance. One not being greater than the other.
An Example would be myself as a young adult my Warrior was at the top. Next was the Magician, then the King. At the bottom of the power structure was the Lover.
I hope this helps
